Saladbox Beauty Fair: Beauty Academy

Saladbox’s first Beauty Fair features beauty school themed attractions was held at A.Venue Mall, Makati City last November 29, 2014. It was my first time to attend a Saladbox event. As you know, I am a fan of Belle de Jour and BDJ Box, and I am also fond of beauty boxes.

Just in case you have no idea about Saladbox, Saladbox is Philippines’ premier beauty and lifestyle subscription service. Get to sample four or more deluxe miniatures from the best beauty and lifestyle brands worldwide every month. Earn reward points by doing product reviews, referring your friends, and buying full-size versions and from the flash sales. Buy full-size products using your reward points.

Here’s my experience during the event:

I had a hard time going to A.Venue Mall since I’m not familiar with the place. Thank goodness for Google who taught me how to go there! Haha. Anyways, I started thinking that this will also be like a BDJ Fair with different sponsoring booths inside, and I’m right! Here are the booths:

♥ Hair makeovers from Cream Silk Philippines and Blo Blow Dry Bar

I was in line for the Cream Silk Hair treatment but due to the long line, I didn’t make it since right after this event, I will still be going somewhere and I don’t want to be late. So I didn’t take this booth, including Blo Dry Bar.

♥ Eyebrow threading from LAY BARE WAXING SALON

I haven’t tried eyebrow threading. It’s my first time to try, and I can say that it was so painful!! I can feel tears start to form in my eyes. Haha. But it was worth it. Here’s my before and after eyebrow look:

♥ Skin and makeup touchups from The Skinfood Philippines, and Get Lei’d Cosmetics

Here’s my lashes after using Get Leid mascara! It’s super effective and I feel I have longer lashes.

Here’s the Skinfood booth. I love the Skinfood cosmetics. It doesn’t irritate my skin. Look at that eye make up by Skinfood

♥ Skin consultations from Flawless and BSKOS

I’m not familiar of the brand, but in fairness, I tried their BB Cream and it’s so nice. Looking forward to see this brand in the market.

♥ Beauty shoot, one-on-one makeup workshop, and makeovers from Glaminar Makeup Artistry

I didn’t have any photo of this booth since there’s a lot of people in line and I can’t capture a really nice angle. :(

♥ Make Your Own Saladbox! Guests get to curate their own Saladboxes and CHOOSE THEIR OWN SAMPLES in the candy bar-like Saladbox Beauty Buffet!

Here’s the MYOS (Make your own saladbox) where ladies get the chance to curate their own Saladbox for 500 pesos. I didn’t get this since I already got some of the buffet items here.

You also get to bond with your favorite beauty and style bloggers during the event. YouTube makeup gurus Michelle Dy and Shebby Liquete will facilitate our Beauty Classes. Top style blogger Patricia Prieto talked about how to “up your beauty to the next level”!

The event was fun! Congratulations Saladbox for a successful event! Looking forward to the next one :)
